This is the Daily Dose of native music episodes 3 + 4. We have combined these two daily shows due to my illness from Monday, October 1st. Man I hate being sick! No one likes it of course. The only GOOD thing I can say about being sick is that it forces me to take a day or two off from work which has been quite hectic as of late. So resting is always a good thing right?

As a podcaster and a webcaster, I have been basically telling my listeners to please visit http://www.savenetradio.org, and get themselves up to speed with what is about to happen in 3 weeks.

I use live 365 as my broadcast provider, and any of you that use them in conjunction with your terrestrial radio broadcasts might want to explain to your listeners that the on-line portion of your broadcast will go down on that day. just about all streams will cease. See their website for details. ( http://www.live365.com

The major record labels through their enforcement legal arm (The RIAA) continue to claim that we (webcasters) hold no value for them to promote their artists. This is simply the most idiotic of stances to take on this issue. Needless to say, they continue to maintain that position.

Fortunately for Podcasters, most of the music that we play is what we call "Pod-safe". This simply means that either the recording artist is independent, and has given us permission to use their music in our broadcasts, or the artist has joined the pod-safe music network, over at podshow.com, or some similar music network that supports the creative commons movement for independent licensing structures.

Please stay informed! Contact your congressmen! Tell them to support Bill H.R. 2060 "The Internet Radio Equality Act"

Welcome to episode 33 of INDIGENOUS PEOPLES MUSIC. Today, Tonight, or just when ever you download this podcast, it is really a light free for all format. I am testing my New Mac Mini that I bought with tax return money (YEAH!!!!)

Please write to me and tell me what you think of the quality of this episode. One thing that I did notice right off the bat that surprised me.....there does not seem to be native support for the MP3 format from within Garage Band. If anyone knows how to export directly from Garage band into the MP3 format, I iwll give you a whole dollar, and you will be my friend for life!

"Talk Don't Matter" Music Video...Artist = Jim Boyd

Native American singer/songwriter JIM BOYD performs one of his latest singles "Talk Don't Matter" at the Seminole Tribal nation's "Tribal Fair" 2007. In this video segment, Jim performs with Irene Bedard, an actress best known for her portrayal of Native American characters in a variety of films.

Jim Boyd is also a multiple-time nominee and one-time winner of the Native American Music Award. Boyd won "Songwriter of the Year" in 2006 for his song "Them Old Guitars" and "Record of the Year" for his album AlterNATIVES. He also received three other nominations for the album Them Old Guitars in 2006, three nominations for the album Going to the Stick Games in 2004, and a nomination for "Best Pop/Rock" act in 2003 for Live.

Hello, and happy 4th of July! For this episode, I have reached WAY back to the year 2002, and a interview that I did with singer, songwriter, composer, traditional flute player, and all around nice guy....Joseph Firecrow.

This was recorded in my old recording studio which I miss very much. The studio was located next to a boat marina, and was ideal for recording. The studio was designed for internet broadcasting. There was just enough room for a small 4 piece band. Having artists visit and perform for a live internet audience was awesome! It could also be demanding, as I had a full time job, and any night where I had to broadcast and a band was scheduled to appear, it was kind of crazy until we were "on the air" and then I could relax a bit.

Hello Everyone! Welcome to show 20!

I had a wonderful experiance at the 8th Annual native American Music Awards! Please keep an eye on our feed as I update it with video performances from the artists who performed.

A special Thank You to Chante Ishta who was my co-host for the evening, and she intereviewed every single winner that night on Camera. I am waiting to get a copy of that reel! I wil share some of those interviews with you soon!
